Gastronomy

When we started out, we raised chickens, pigeons, partridges, pigs and cows to prepare our dishes. Nowadays, this has changed, and the regulations are too strict for us to continue to do so.

Having said that, we offer traditional spanish cuisine, recovering traditional recipes, with the best quality raw materials, offering a friendly and attentive service, in the impressive setting of a several hundred year old farmhouse.

We recommend our “Tasting Menu”, which consists of a first course with six starters representative of the Mesón, a second course to choose between suckling lamb and suckling pig roasted in a wood oven, and a dessert with three miniatures of our most typical desserts.

Our “Cocido madrileño” menu deserves a special mention. Some say the best in Spain.

As the most representative starters of our offer, you can find the grilled sausage, the “asadillo” of peppers with tuna in oil made in the Mesón, the black pudding of the Mesón, the “morteruelo”, the “migas”, the Iberian croquettes or the “faroles”. Regarding fish dishes, our grilled sea bass with garlic and olive oil, or our cod bites in tomato sauce, are a very good option.

Regarding fish dishes, our grilled sea bass with garlic and olive oil, or our cod bites in tomato sauce, are a very good option. The shrimp omelettes are extraordinary. En cuanto a los platos de pescado, nuestra lubina a la plancha con ajo y aceite de oliva o nuestros bocaditos de bacalao en salsa de tomate, son una muy buena opción.

As the main course our speciality is suckling pig or spring lamb roasted in our wood oven. The menu is complemented by stews and grilled red meats, among which the Mesón’s soup, Chinchon beans, Chinchón-style tripe, oxtail or “Don Narciso” tenderloin, in homage to the creator of the Mesón, stand out.

We are very proud of our homemade desserts. We highly recommend La Mancha flowers with honey, ”leche frita”, almond meringue cake, our cheesecake or amazing chocolate hazelnut cake.
We have a short but well selected wine list of national and foreign wines The house wine is a young local wine served in hand made wineskins, just as we have always done for the last couple of decades.
